Richie's Cafe - 787-887-1435

Richie's Café is set high a top mountain overlooking the greens of the Rio Mar Wyndham Grand Resort golf course straight out to the crystal clear Atlantic Ocean with a side view of the United States only national rain forest, El Yunque.

Richie has been a resident of Palmer, Puerto Rico for thirty-two years. His property, now home to Richie’s Restaurant, has one of nature’s most breathtaking views. Richie’s Restaurant is set high on a top mountain overlooking the rolling greens of the Rio Mar Wyndham Grand Resort Golf course, straight out to the crystal clear the Atlantic Ocean with a side view of the United States only National rainforest, El Yunque.

So began the dream of Richie’s Restaurant, two open-air dining rooms, each with a bar, serving Caribbean cuisine while overlooking the mountain view of the Atlantic Ocean. An establishment focused on serving great food at affordable prices with polished service and an intricate list of wines and beverages, all while still serving the best local dishes with the friendly type of hospitality one would expect to find on the island of enchantment, Puerto Rico.

This twenty-four years dream is now a reality, with over two years of construction and handpicking the culinary staff with a delicate balance of the chefs from the states and local restaurants opening has finally come. We are proud to join the establishment of Rio Grande to offer you what we know as the most complete evening available for dining and leisure on the island.

It is located just outside of the resort.  Take a right up the hill and it is ~ 3/4 - 1 mile up. In our opinion the food to be good, not amazing. The views however are spectacular.  It is an open restaurant and go during the day or just before sunset and you will see terrific views of Puerto Rico.  They will usually pick you up if you call for a shuttle.

Chef Alfredo Ayala (brains behind Ali-Oli, El Chayote, Yuqui-Yu) and his highly efficient staff serve dishes that are contemporary yet traditional Puerto Rican in spirit.
